About Me
My name is Adam Thatcher. I am a certified Alexander Technique Instructor through Alexander Technique International. I have been studying the technique for over 20 years. I have been practicing and instructing it for over 10 years. I live in Chicago. I have a BFA in Musical Theatre (SUNY Fredonia) and an MFA in Acting (University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign). I am a professional actor. I also teach voice/dialects, acting, movement, and directing. I use the Alexander Technique daily in my own professional practice and know first-hand how helpful it can be for anyone!
I used to have a lot of tension in my body/shoulders/hips which affected my voice and my acting, my career. It also affected my posture at work which gave me a lot of pain in my back and neck. Once I learned the Alexander Technique and started to practice it daily, my pain and tension went away and I wad able to sing better, act better and just do my normal daily activities without pain or tension.
I am very excited about the Alexander Technique and am eager to share my work with you. I offer a mobile service in the Chicagoland area, where I come to you in the comfort of your own home/office/studio. Wherever you feel comfortable! Looking forward to meeting you soon!
